DOGANA at the FIC 2018

Olivier Bettan (Thales) presented the DOGANA framework and DOGANA cards game at the 10th International Cybersecurity Forum the 23rd and 24th January 2018 in Lille (France). Organized by the National Gendarmerie, CEIS and EuraTechnologies, and co-financed by Hauts-de-France region, the FIC falls within an approach of thoughts and exchanges in order to promote a European vision of cybersecurity. Besides Thales, major cybersecurity actors were part of this event, such as HexaTrust, Orange, Airbus, Atos, Microsoft, Capgemini, National Cybersecurity Agency of France, Huawei, Kaspersky, and many others.

DOGANA has been part of this event through a video presentation of the DOGANA SDVA framework, showing the live demonstration presented during the 2nd project review. An exhibit of the DOGANA cards game has also been given at Thales stand (the DOGANA cards game will be the subject of our next blog post).

DOGANA at Vienna Cyber Security Week

presented the DOGANA framework at the Vienna Cyber Security Week
, a General Cybersecurity Conference co-organized by the energypact foundation, within the session "Emerging and Future Threats to Digitalized Energy Systems" of February 1, dedicated to "Securing the Energy Economy: Gas, Electricity, Oil & Nuclear".
Brought to Vienna in 2017 for the first time, this event gathers international players in the field of safety & security for critical infrastructures.
We are in the process of digitalizing our energy systems, be those nuclear facilities, oil refineries, or electrical distribution systems, for example. This digitalization introduces several operational benefits and efficiencies. Meanwhile, there is a general trend that cyber-attacks to critical infrastructures are becoming more targeted and sophisticated. In this session, there will be a discussion...

DOGANA at ARES 2017

Enrico Frumento (CEFRIEL), Angelo Consoli (SUPSI), Federica Freschi (CEFRIEL) and Davide Andreoletti (SUPSI) presented DOGANA (with the talk about the paper "Victim Communication Stack: A flexible model to select the Human Attack Vector") at the 12th International Conference on Availability, Reliability and Security (“ARES – The International Dependability Conference”), Reggio Calabria, Italy, August 29 - September 1, 2017. ARES brought together researchers and practitioners in the area of dependability. ARES highlighted the various aspects of dependability – with special focus on the crucial linkage between availability, reliability and security.

On April 21th Matteo Mauri and Davide Ariu (CNIT) presented the project's activities to college and BSc students during OpenDays 4 OpenMinds (Cagliari - Italy). CNIT also promoted DOGANA and its competition at the international conference on comics, science & literature

DOGANA at ITS Romania Congress 2016 and at Mobihealth 2016

Two other prestigious international events have involved DOGANA during the month of November.
On November 3th Florin Dragomir (RATB) gave the talk “Vulnerability Asessment of ITS, DOGANA Project” at ITS Romania Congress 2016 (Bucharest - Romania).

CNIT and DOGANA at SINNOVA 2016

SINNOVA is the most important sardinian exhibition dedicated to innovation, organized every year in Cagliari (Italy). More than 150 exhibitors, among innovative ICT companies, universities, investors, present their products and the results of their research activities.
The 4th SINNOVA edition took place in Cagliari (6-7 October) and has been visited by more than 5000 guests.
During SINNOVA 2016, CNIT (represented by Matteo Mauri and Davide Ariu, PRA Lab) presented its activities on Computer Security and the DOGANA project.

The dark side of Open Data. DOGANA presented during KDWeb 2016, International Workshop on Knowledge Discovery

KDWEB - Knowledge Discovery on the Web is an International Workshop dedicated to researchers, scientists, students, and practitioners involved in the fields of Knowledge Discovery on Data Mining, Information Retrieval, and Semantic Web. KDWEB 2016 (September 8-10, Cagliari, Italy) contributed to discuss and compare suitable novel solutions based on intelligent techniques and applied in real-world applications.
During the workshop Matteo Mauri and Alessio Mulas (CNIT) showed DOGANA's goals and an attack scenario based on Social Engineering techniques, presenting the paper "The dark side of open data" and its related poster.

The age of human hacking. DOGANA presented during BTIA 2016, International Summer School on computer security and privacy

The University of Cagliari organized the 4th edition of Building Trust in the Information Age (September 5-9, 2016, Sardegna Ricerche, Pula, Italy), International Summer School on computer security and privacy. The school aims at providing a quite accurate overview of the current scenario, and draw future directions for research activities and good practices.
During the school Enrico Frumento (CEFRIEL) presented DOGANA's goals and Social Engineering trends, giving the lecture "The age of human hacking, Unconventional attacks through the human component of security".
