Enrico Frumento (CEFRIEL)
presented the DOGANA framework at the Vienna Cyber Security Week
, a General Cybersecurity Conference co-organized by the energypact foundation, within the session "Emerging and Future Threats to Digitalized Energy Systems" of February 1, dedicated to "Securing the Energy Economy: Gas, Electricity, Oil & Nuclear".

The Vienna Cyber Security week:

Brought to Vienna in 2017 for the first time, this event gathers international players in the field of safety & security for critical infrastructures. The conference is hosted by the Energypact Foundation in cooperation with the Federal Ministry for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs (BMEIA), the Federal Ministry of Defense and Sports (BMLVS), the Federal Ministry of the Interior (BM.I), the Federal Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology, the Cyber Security Platform of the Austrian Federal Government (CSP) and the AIT Austrian Institute of Technology as scientific partner as well as with the support of international organizations an providers in the field of critical infrastructures.

Securing the Energy Economy: Gas, Electricity, Oil & Nuclear. Session 1, February 1: Emerging and Future Threats to Digitalized Energy Systems:

We are in the process of digitalizing our energy systems, be those nuclear facilities, oil refineries, or electrical distribution systems, for example. This digitalization introduces several operational benefits and efficiencies; however, it introduces a much larger cyber-attack surface than ever before. Meanwhile, there is a general trend that cyber-attacks to critical infrastructures are becoming more targeted and sophisticated. Moreover, these attacks are targeting operational and safety-critical systems, using a range of attack techniques. In this session, there will be a discussion regarding the nature of this emerging threat landscape, identifying broad trends that are being seen across the energy sector and elsewhere. Following on from this discussion, the panel will provide hypotheses about how they see these trends evolving in the future. The aim is to support organizations with their cyber security preparedness, by having a sound understanding of the emerging threat landscape.
